Definition Edit

ISTAR (an acronym for Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance) is

[t]he prioritised integration, coordination and synchronisation of capabilities and activities to acquire, process and disseminate information and intelligence, to support the planning and execution of operations.[1]

Overview Edit

The inclusion of the "I" is important as it recognizes the importance of taking the information from all of the sensors and processing it into useful knowledge.
