IFP is an acronym for Invitation for proposal. An IFP, also known as an RFP (Request for proposal) is a document sent to vendors of computer products and/or services, setting forth the requirements of the entity preparing the document (or for whom the documents was prepared) and inviting the contacted vendors to submit a proposal of how their product and/or services can meet the requirements set forth in the document.
