The conference, explored the most appropriate and effective methods to maintain a balance between the privacy of health records and the legitimate needs for information while facilitating the development of the electronic health system and health records. The speakers and participants examined the uses of health information, the effect of health information upon individual rights, and the best means for society to strike the balance between the privacy of health records and the need for data in the future.
