Ground truthing is

[t]he technique of verifying that results obtained from lab testing or simulations are repeatable in real-world situations.[1]

Overview Edit

"An example: lab results show a particular configuration creates a vulnerability. Ground truthing of this is accomplished by checking the production system and verifying that indeed a vulnerability exists."[2]
