Global contestability is based on the notion that best practices migrate rapidly to multinational companies everywhere. The prime agents are leading edge companies establishing operations abroad and M&A, but there is also a "halo" effect on local companies as suppliers link in via electronically-enabled supply chains. Global contestability also drives equality of productivity in locally-produced, locally-consumed services.[1]
