In 1999, the G8 Government Online Group undertook a multinational study of electronic democracy,[1] citing examples from local, regional, and national governments in North America and Europe. This study provided insights into how public agencies use IT to deliver more efficient services to their citizens and emphasized the need to share these experiences.
