Overview Edit

The Future Systems Technology Advisory Panel (FSTAP) was established by the Social Security Administration Commissioner in February 2008. The mission of the panel was to provide independent advice and recommendations on the future of systems technology and electronic services at SSA 5 to 10 years into the future. The panel was terminated by the Commissioner on January 9, 2012, because of budgetary constraints.

The Panel issued four reports

  • Low Hanging Fruit/Quick Victories Report (App. D).
  • Data Center Migration Report (App. E).
  • Legacy Systems Conversion Report (App. F).
  • Re-imagining Social Security (App. G).
