Frequency hopping (FH) is

[a] form of spread spectrum in which the transmission frequency of a single communication channel is made to change by a random or pseudo-random sequence of discrete steps.[1]
a technique for changing transmit frequency in a way that makes it difficult for an adversary to jam communications.[2]
