Definition[]

An unmanned maritime system (UMS) comprises

unmanned maritime vehicles (UMVs), which include both unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs), all necessary support components, and the fully integrated sensors and payloads necessary to accomplish the required missions. Figure 6 provides an overview of UMS's currently in use by the DoD.[1]
