Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014, Pub. L. No. 113-283 (Dec. 18, 2014) (full-text).

Overview[]

This Act revised the Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002 to, among other things, clarify and strengthen information security roles and responsibilities for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Act also reiterated the requirement for federal agencies to develop, document, and implement an agency-wide information security program. The program is to provide security for the information and information systems that support the operations and assets of the agency, including those provided or managed by another agency, contractor, or other source.
