Federal Financial Management Improvement Act of 1996 (FFMIA), Pub. L. No. 104–208, 110 Stat. 3009 (Sept. 30, 1996).
This Act mandates federal agencies to implement and maintain financial management systems that comply substantially with federal systems requirements, federal accounting standards, and the U.S. Government Standard General Ledger (SGL). FFMIA also requires GAO to report annually on the implementation of the Act.
