Overview Edit

The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 ("FACT Act") requires the Federal Reserve Board, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Office of Thrift Supervision, National Credit Union Administration, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Federal Trade Commission, in coordination with one another, to adopt consistent and comparable rules regarding the proper disposal of consumer report information and records. This final Rule implements this requirement.
