Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is an integrated system of application software combining logistics, production, distribution, contract and order management, sales forecasting, financial and human resources management. It integrates most of an entity's data across all or most of the entity's activities into a common, shared database and generate management information for all departments of an organization.
