Disaster preparedness

includes actions taken in advance of disasters to deal with anticipated problems of disaster response and recovery. Actions include training and exercises to improve readiness; development and refinement of response and recovery plans; development, deployment, testing, and maintenance of systems used for disaster management; and public education and information programs for individuals, households, firms, and public agencies.[1]
