An electronic attack data message

reports an electronic attack strobe from an affected or detecting unit's position to an aircraft emitting an electronic attack. It is used to report the location of a hostile or unknown aircraft emitting an electronic attack. The detecting unit reports its detection to all units using a given network when the data link is degraded or not operational. Upon receipt of several messages, the source of enemy electronic attack can be determined by comparing lines of bearing from the different origins by triangulation.[1]
