An EDP auditor is

[a] person who performs operational, computer, computer program, and data file reviews to determine the integrity, adequacy, performance, security, and compliance with organization and generally accepted policies, procedures, and standards. This person also may participate in design specification of applications to ensure adequacy of control.[1]
