Disposal

is the act of discarding media with no other sanitization considerations. This is most often done by paper recycling containing non-confidential information but may also include other media.[1]
include[s] the discarding or abandonment of consumer information, as well as the sale, donation, or transfer of any medium, including computer equipment, upon which consumer information is stored.[2]
[is t]he actions taken regarding temporary records after their retention periods expire and consisting usually of destruction or occasionally of donation.[3]
