Definitions Edit

Disasters are

non-routine events in societies, regions, or communities that involve conjunctions of physical conditions with social definitions of human harm and social disruption.[1]

A disaster is

a serious disruption of the functioning of a society and can be divided into natural disasters not directly triggered by humans, and environmental disasters directly caused by human. Those threats apply to any kind of asset in general, hence also to the Internet infrastructure. Typical threats of this class are earthquakes, floods, wildfires and pollution, dust, or corrosion.[2]
