Overview Edit

Once an OCA official classifies information, that information may be paraphrased, extracted, or summarized, which is known as a derivative classification decision. A derivative classifier must observe and respect the original classification decision and carry forward to any newly created document the pertinent classification markings from the source document(s) or the security classification guide.[1]
