U.S. copyright law[]
"1) For the recordation of transfers of copyright ownership and other documents pertaining to copyright under Section 205 of Title 17 of the United States Code, '[t]he date of recordation is the date when a proper document under [37 C.F.R. § 201.4(c)] and a proper fee under paragraph (d) of this section [37 C.F.R. § 201.4] are all received in the Copyright Office.' 37 C.F.R. § 201.4(e)."[1]
"2) For the recordation of a notice of termination under Sections 203, 304(c), or 304(d) of Title 17 of the United States Code, '[t]he date of recordation is the date when all of the elements required for recordation, including the prescribed fee and, if required, the statement referred to in [37 C.F.R. § 201.10(f)(1)(ii)], have been received in the Copyright Office.' 37 C.F.R. §201.10(f)(3)."[2]
"3) For the recordation of a Visual Arts Registry Statement '[t]he date of recordation is the date when all of the elements required for recordation, including the prescribed fee, have been received in the Copyright Office.' 37 C.F.R. § 201.26(e)."[3]
