Overview[]

Yhr DHS Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties Working Group on UAS was created to provide a forum for all Components whose work relates in some way to UAS activities to discuss items of common interest, and to coordinate guidance on privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties issues.

The Working Group [has] compiled a best practices document that reflects the lessons learned through the DHS's operation of UAS. The best practices principles enumerated in the document may be used by any Component whose future plans include funding or deploying UAS. These best practices may also inform state and local law enforcement agencies of issues to consider when establishing a UAS program

The DHS Privacy Office co-chairs this Working Group.
