A critical asset is

[a]n asset that supports national security, national economic security, and/or crucial public health and safety activities.[1]

Power grid[]

Critical assets are

[f]acilities, systems, and equipment which, if destroyed, degraded, or otherwise rendered unavailable, would affect the reliability or operability of the Bulk Electric System.[2]
