A crisis management test (also called a crisis management exercise) is

[a] testing exercise that validates the capabilities of crisis management teams to respond to specific events. Crisis management exercises typically test the call tree notification process with employees, vendors, and key clients. Escalation procedures and disaster declaration criteria may also be validated.[1]
