Criminal intelligence is

information compiled, analyzed, and/or disseminated in an effort to anticipate, prevent, or monitor criminal activity. Criminal intelligence is the combination of credible information with quality analysis information that has been evaluated and used to draw conclusions. Criminal intelligence results from a process involving planning and direction, information collection, processing/collation, analysis, dissemination, and reevaluation (feedback) of information on suspected criminals and/or organizations.[1]
