Definition Edit

Covert identification is an

authentication system [that] make[s] it possible to identify an individual without the individual's consent or even knowledge. Such systems deny the individual, and society, the opportunity to object to and to monitor the identification process. These technologies are particularly vulnerable to misuse because their use is hidden.[1]
