Definition Edit

Connection points are

the places at which the various components of the network interconnect, often with the aid of an electronic or optical device (e.g., switches and routers between the middle mile and backbone), so that data can move across the network. Connection points are analogous to the intersections, on-ramps, and interchanges between local roads, divided highways, and multi-lane interstate highways.[1]
