Overview Edit

Command, control, and communications countermeasures (C3CM) is the integrated use of OPSEC, military deception, jamming, and physical attacks supported by intelligence. C3CM denies the enemy information and degrades, destroys, or influences its command, control and communications (C3) capabilities. C3CM also protects friendly C3 from enemy counter C3. Knowing the critical nodes and links in friendly and enemy C3 systems in a self-deployment operation is essential in planning and executing friendly C3CM.

C3CM consists of two major components — C3 protection and counter C3. In a self-deployment operation, C3 protection and counter C3 play equally important roles.
