The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries (CARL) is an organization based in Denver, Colorado, that started out by building an online catalog for a number of Colorado-based libraries, which was then expanded nationally, offering a linked collection of catalogs for major libraries from Hawaii to Maryland. In addition, CARL creates and offers access to a database of journal tables of contents, a companion document delivery service, and a number of commercial databases.
