Definition Edit

Cloud polling is when a

smart home device is in constant communication with the cloud. The device checks the cloud server to see if there are any commands to be executed and then uploads its current status.[1]

Overview Edit

"The device may use this method if it wants to keep polling the cloud server to check if there is a new firmware version available that needs to be downloaded and installed."[2]
