Definition[]

A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is a seal or small sticker on a proprietary computer program, t-shirt, jersey, or any other memorabilia item, especially in the world of computers and sports, which is designed to demonstrate that the item is authentic.

Overview[]

Increasingly, CoAs use cryptography instead of physical seals or stickers : a CoA can take the form of a cryptographic key, or a blockchain NFT (Non Fungible Tokens). UNCOPIED Certificates of Authenticity use chirographs to ensure physical unicity and authenticity of the object, combined with a blockchain NFT.

Computer software COA's have a license number on them, which verifies that the program is a genuine, legal copy.
