Carrier pre-selection (CPS) is

[t]he facility offered to customers, which allows them to opt for certain defined classes of call to be carried by an operator that has been selected in advance and has a contract with the customer. CPS does not require the customer to dial a routing prefix or use a dialer box.[1]
