Definition Edit

Call Detail Information (also Call Detail Records) are

records generated from call detail reports through administrative, technical or investigative follow-up. In some cases call detail information or records will contain no individually identifiable information and therefore no Privacy Act considerations will apply. In other cases, the information and records will be linked with individuals and the Privacy Act must be taken into consideration.[1]

Overview Edit

"Call detail records typically include much of the information that appears on a customer's telephone bill: the date and time of a call, its duration, and the participating telephone numbers. Such information is commonly referred to as a type of metadata.'"
