Definition Edit

Buffering refers to downloading a certain amount of data before starting to play music or movie.

Overview Edit

"Streaming media by buffering chunks of content locally and displaying those while fetching the next segments. An important business element is that the streamed file is generally not stored in its entirety on the user's machine, so the user cannot re-distribute or re-watch the content without again accessing the streaming provider."[1]
