Definition Edit

The Biosurveillance Common Operating Picture (BCOP) is a comprehensive electronic picture with assessments of current biological events, trends and their potential impacts on U.S. homeland security.

The BCOP provides a secure platform for cross-domain information analysis by NBIS subject matter experts to learn more about and collectively evaluate current situations. An impact assessment of an event constitutes a major portion of the NBIS BCOP information dissemination.
