Batch processing is

computer processing of accumulated data or of jobs accumulated in advance so that each accumulation thus formed is processed in the same computer run.[1]
[t]he system by which computers process, without operator intervention, all input for an application at one time to produce the desired input, even though input data might have been collected periodically.[2]
