Overview Edit

The Appointments Clause (Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution) empowers the President to appoint certain public officials with the "advice and consent" of the U.S. Senate. It also allows lower-level officials to be appointed without utilizing the advice and consent process.
