Overview Edit

The American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) was founded in June 1941 as a non-profit educational organization. Its goal was to advance the sciences of surveying and mapping and related fields, in furtherance of the welfare of those who use and make maps.

During its July 13, 2011 meeting, the ACSM Congress voted to disband, and turn over administrative and financial control of ACSM to the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).
