Definition Edit

An air-gapped network is

one that is not connected to any other network, including the Internet, and only allows internal data transmission.[1]

Overview Edit

Such networks are not vulnerable to Internet-based cyber attacks, but can be infected by viruses and worms when an external device, such as a thumb drive, is inserted into the computer.
