Business Edit

An affiliate is

a company or business enterprise located in one country but owned or controlled by a parent company in another country; may be either incorporated or unincorporated.

Internet Edit

An affiliate is a website that directs a user to an e-commerce site in exchange for a commission on any purchases by that user.

Telecommunications Edit

An affiliate is

a person that (directly or indirectly) owns or controls, is owned or controlled by, or is under common ownership or control with, another person.[2]
a company that assists telecommunications carriers with building a wireless network. The affiliate may use the primary carrier’s brand name, network operations, customer service or other facilities.
