Overview Edit

The Advanced Access Content Protection System (AACS) was developed for next-generation, high-definition DVDs by a cross-industry consortium of consumer electronics manufacturers, content owners, and technology companies. It will complement new innovations in the next-generation of optical discs.

The technology does not contain any provisions requiring regional coding to be included on products by adopters of this content protection system.
