Definition Edit

Address matching is

a semi-automated process for deriving latitude/longitude coordinates from street addresses.[1]

Overview Edit

Address matching is achieved by “comparing” a tabular file of street addresses with a digital cartographic street network file that contains street names, address ranges, and latitude/longitude coordinates of the street network.
