Access management is

enables a UA and an MTA to establish access to one another and to manage information associated with access establishment. The element of service permits the UA and MTA to identify and validate the identity of the other. It provides a capability for the UA to specify its O/R address and to maintain access security. When access security is achieved through passwords, these passwords can be periodically updated.[1]

Access management is "[t]he process of controlling access to IT services, data, or other assets."[2]
