Definition Edit

Acceptable quality level (AQL) is

[t]he fraction of defective items permitted in a group of parts (e.g., integrated circuits) that pass the statistical sampling tests agreed to by manufacturer and purchaser. An AQL of 0.01 percent, for instance, means that no more than 1 defect per 10,000 parts, on the average, is allowed.[1]
