Overview[]
The purpose of this report is to identify a foundation that provides a common reference system for the generation and exchange of spatial data. The Mapping Science Committee (MSC) believes it is in the public interest for government to play a leading and facilitating role incoordinating the development of spatial data and to make those data available for public use and exchange.
