Overview[]

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum is a group of 21 countries, formed in 1989, to promote free trade and investment flows, economic growth and stability in the Asia Pacific region.[1]

In November 1997, APEC leaders agreed to the development of a work plan for electronic commerce.
