Overview Edit

The Defense Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID), started in 2012, is a Department of Defense database. It includes case information on unrestricted and restricted reports[1] of allegations of sexual assault committed against members of the U.S. Armed Forces, during or prior to their service. DSAID does not include information on child sexual abuse or sexual assault between intimate partners.

  1. An unrestricted report of sexual assault in the military is a report that is provided to military criminal investigation organizations and/or law enforcement for investigation. A restricted report of sexual assault in the military is a report that allows victims to confidentially access medical care and advocacy services without triggering an investigation. Victims may convert their restricted report to an unrestricted report at any time and participate in the military justice process.
